Steingraeber & Söhne

Steingraeber & Söhne was founded in 1820 in Thuringia and since 1852 it has made Bayreuth its home becoming in just three decades one of the best known manufacturers of grand and upright pianos.

In an era of mass production, the about 30 employees of Steingraeber are still mostly specialized in the artisanal production of the highest quality pianos. For example, for the housing only solid wood is used. Also in the treatment of surfaces, Steingraeber offers alternatives to polyester resin coatings like shellac, wax, etc.
